                       On February 19, 2009, I lost one of my daughters, Melissa McNichols Rupoli, to cancer.  Melissa's family,  would like to 
                       hold an annual birthday party for her.  Melissa was only 29 years old.  She fought valiantly to beat cancer without success.

                       At the annual birthday party, we are asking you to bring us new, or gently used clothing to donate to people 
                       who really need to stay warm  You can drop off your donations at any of the Heritage Cleaners in the Metro Area. 
                       This year we are also offering you the choice to purchase items on this website which will also be given to cancer 
                       patients at the Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, cancer support groups or to any cancer patient who calls us with 
                       a need. 

                       As with most cancer patients, the chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments leave the body so weak it cannot fight 
                       the cold.  For her birthday we are asking people bring Gifts of Warmth, such as sweaters, sweatshirts, hats, gloves,
                       scarves or socks.  In turn, I have made arrangements to donate them locally, to the Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers,
                       in her name so no patient will have to be cold as they fight to save their life.

                       So many people we encountered on our journey were not in a position to have warm clothing.  Melissa routinely

                       gave other patients, literally, the clothes off her back as they were shivering with cold during a treatment. 

                       The hospitals and infusion centers have an amazing arsenal of hand-made quilts on hand.  Many patients do not

                       have these items to keep them warm in their own home.  It is widely known that once chemotherapy begins,

                       the patients experience either weight loss or gain and their own items no longer fit and are no longer sufficient.

We are collecting items for men, women and children so all sizes are important.
